A month already-

How fast time flies- it does- I try I try to slow it down- but....

Here's looking back-

This was taken on August 1st, 2013- You are starting to smile- I LOVE it! Of course, when I pull out the camera- you refuse.

Just wanted to remember you little hairs in the back- not sure where you got this strawberry blonde hair from- it seems to be getting darker- I wonder if it will curl?

Oink!

This photo is from today (7/29/13) You are 4 weeks old today.

You love to lay on your belly. I think you really want to roll over- so that you can sleep on your belly- but you aren't quite there yet. And you love to snuggle with your Daddy.

I finally realized that I better start cycling through some of cute NB size outfits because you are about to grow out of them! You are wearing NB and 0-3 size clothes. The NB is starting to get snug- so it won't be long. We also ran out of NB diapers- and you are wearing a size 1.
At your 2 week check up- you weighed 8 lbs 8 oz and were 21 inches long! Marking you up in the 65%- WOW- so much bigger than your big brother.

If we could hold you the whole time you slept- then I think you would already be sleeping through the night. I love holding you and watching you sleep! You are a snuggly little thing. and the loudest sleeper! We like to call you our little Teradactyl-  you make all kinds of grunts and sweet oooos while you are sleeping. We startred our nighttime sleep routine and you have done pretty good. We start bath at 8PM, then you nurse and usually fall asleep for about an hour. Then after Daddy is done giving your big brother a bath- you like to lay with him until you fall asleep again around 10:30PM. You sleep the longest on this one- usually for about 4 hours. And after you eat you easily go right back to sleep throughout the night. Getting up about every 3 hours. You are sleeping in the pack-n-play in our room and doing a great job. Depending on what was the last time you woke up- you will sleep until about 7AM. Then we usually go for a walk. If I will hold you will even sleep on more 'round; and get up around 9 AM! nice!
After our walk- you have been taking a 3 hour nap right around 10AM each day- so that's nice- let's Mommy get some work done.

I try to hold you through at least one nap a day- I love it! and I know it won't be long before I won't get to do that anymore.

We totally forgot to get PJs for you! ha! Good thing we have good friends with cute hand-me downs. We are stacked with clothes from Berkley (can't wait for you and her to get to meet and play- she is 8 months older than you- so you two will probably be trouble at some point in time)

From the day we brought you home from the hospital- you have had crazy strong neck muscles and very strong legs! Guess keeping up with my workouts rubbed off on you. You can lift your neck very well- however- lowering it... not so good at.

I am trying to help you work on self soothing. You won't take a pacifier- and you try and suck your thumb- but then decide against it. So I though you might like to snuggle with this little bear.  You even make the 'frog' noise that I made too! But so far- we haven't figured out how to soothe those little fussy night time cries.

Your 1st selfie. I am pretty sure I have already begin to bug you with my picture taking- but no worries- I'm not going to stop. So you have plenty of years to just get use to it. It's what Mommies do.

Yes- already embarrassing you. Your 1st bath.

and I love these little head bands-

Pretty much brand new here-

Not much bigger than our remote control-  little bitty thang!

Protective Gracie- she makes sure no one messes with you. She is such a good Mama dog.

Can't imagine life without you- and can't believe how fast it goes by. I will enjoy my days of snuggling with you on my chest- as I know they won't last long. We love you.

and the countdown begins....just 5 days to go!

What a whirlwind of emotions and breakdowns this past week!

It all started last Thurs.- I was suppose to see my doctor's nurse practitioner (because my doctor was in Europe! honestly I am still surprised I didn't go into labor while she was gone) But when I get to the office, the Internet is fried....
and so they won't see ANY patients...
 WHAT?

And this was the appointment where we were going to go ahead and schedule our induction date. And she won't even see me. So they tell me that they will try and get me in the next day- or will call me to reschedule for sometime next week.

Now a little bit of back story- when we finally decided to schedule BabyK's induction date- the hospital was FULL. They put us 'on call' for Monday, Tues, Wed, or Thurs of the following week.

For real.

And that's how BabyK came 8 days late.

So they give me this news- and naturally I high tail it to my car, call husband, and cry. And then go get a chocolate brownie shake. All is better, right?

Then the next morning, a Friday, bright and early, I call to reschedule my appointment. They nonchalantly tell me they will get me in NEXT Thurs... um NO. That's not going to work- because of this and this and this and I am sosorryIknowIamemotionalbutIneedtoschedulemyinducationdatepleasehelpme

I hang up with her- because I am pretty sure she thinks I am a little bit loony and she was no help anyhow. I call my doctor's nurse assistant- and she is all kinds of wonderful! She gets me in to see my doctor Monday afternoon- and promises me that she will schedule the induction date as soon as we see the doctor.

Over the weekend- we WIN the Championship at our basketball tournament!! and we celebrate! PapaL comes in town for the celebration too.

Playing I Spy at lunch

Cheese!

Free throw!

Monday comes- we see the doctor- I am so swollen and poofy- my toes are sausage like and my fingers look like I have 5 thumbs. She tells me that all is ok- probably the heat. Nice.

And then they schedule us to check into the hospital Sunday! THIS SUNDAY! ohsweetreliefIcanfinallyseethelightattheendofthetunnel....

I can deal with being poofy and hot and uncomfortable for one more week. And then- AND THEN- we get to finally meet our sweet sweet baby girl. (she will be sweet right?)

So needless to say- this week we have been some busy bodies. Not sure why we waited to do some of this stuff until now. But ya know... that's how we roll.

Bags packed
Last minute preparations are in full swing. Last belly shots.

39.5 weeks

39.5 weeks- love these stretchy tanks- JC Penny like $5- NICE!

That's right- he is in his big boy bed. In his own room.
So we will prepare, and clean, and relax, and do all the things you think you are suppose to do before babies arrive. And then Sunday we will check in and Monday she will be here. We can't wait- will she have her Daddy's green eyes? Her Mommy's nose? just 5 days to go and we can all find out!

34.5 weeks- Mother's Day- and other random stuff

I know- it's been a long time. So let's catch up.

I went on my last trips before Miss arrives. Here in Indiana for a conference.

For Mother's day- I woke up to breakfast- Cody copy-cat the recipe from Kerby Lane- my fav EggsFransico! Sooo good- AND- I got a Lulu gift card so I can go shopping here soon. We also enjoyed the weekend- playing with the Castillo's at Hanover's- doing a little shopping- cooking out- relaxing and a nice dinner at La Estancia.

then I headed to our annual staff gathering- this year in New Orleans! My 1st time to go there. On the way, in the Austin airport they had the WWII Vets coming in from Washington- very touching.

1st night and I am already a huge NOLA fan! We all got hurricane glasses- and then next to that is the BEST shrimp and grits I have EVEReverever had. So good- I had 2 glasses full.

then we went out for some live music and beignets. YUM.

check these out! Buzz Balls- got them in the CVS right down the street. We will save them for a special celebration later this summer.

Me and Christen on the 2nd night. Dinner at Muriel's on Jackson Square.
Dinner was awesome- and there was a tarot card reader there for us too!
No worries- she assured me that I am on the right track- keep doing what I am doing.

Then more beignets.

So now back home- back to the gym. 34 weeks-

I am ready for 37 weeks and her to be full term- and then I am ready to meet her! Sleeping is off and on these days. But overall feeling pretty good. Traveling got me pretty puffy- in fact I lost my ankles but they came back.

I knew the month of May was going to fly by- and here we are about to enjoy Memorial Day weekend- followed by the last week of school! Looking forward to the pool and some grilling this weekend.

30 weeks- 10 weeks to go- that's 70 days.....

eieieieieieieieieieieiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieieieieieiei!!!

OMG- for real? I mean really though.

OK- here we go-

Pics side by side- totally a lot bigger this time around. Although weight is not bigger- but my bell-lay looks like it's OUT there.

Baby #1 (boy)

Baby #2 (girl)

How far along? 30 weeks- the countdown is on- I know it's going to go by fast- even though some days go by slow. Overall I know she's going to be here before we know it. I am SO ready to meet her!

Body Changes? Obv- I have a big belly.... haha.

Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good. I have to go on 2 work trips next month! A little nervous about that- getting through the airport and rude people with a belly in the way- AND then having to sleep in a hotel room. I got an inflatable wedge pillow that I can take in my suitcase and hopefully it will help prop me up in the hotel bed.

Best moment this week: THIS- by far. Look at those chubby cheeks. She looks like her brother and she has a little bit of hair! hehe.

Food Cravings: I am pretty sure what I have is NOT cravings but excuses. Like- well since I am pregnant- and only for about 10 more weeks- I should have another slice of pizza- and maybe just one more cookie- OH and another cupcake... right?

What I miss: Prob going to have to get help shaving the legs now. We do have a bench in our shower and that makes it much easier.

Symptoms: Dry skin (could be the weather?) My multi-tasking skills are at an all time low. And if you knew me- then you know how much I multi- task..... it's been near impossible lately.

What I am looking forward to: a easy relaxing weekend. We have been on the go go go lately with basketball games, our annual crawfish boil, and all that- so a weekend with no plans? why yes please!

Workouts: I am slowing down for sure. Push ups are hard- doctor advised me to lay off ab exercises  core work is ok- but no crunches or anything that isolates the abs. Combat is still my favorite class- trying to fit that in twice a week- along with Boot Camp twice a week- the a workout on my own once a week. Sometimes getting to the gym is the hardest part.

Milestones: I PASSED MY GLUCOSE TEST!!! First time around! yayayyaya! what a relief! soooo happy about that.

well hello 24 weeks

I got a bump in the front and a bump in the back!

How far along? 24 weeks
Body Changes? pretty sure the belly is growing. and heartburn is a mo-fo. We had a jalapeno popper pizza (I KNOW) Saturday night- so good. Really good. But baby girl did not agree. Maybe it was just too much, I mean, cream cheese.... bacon.... jalapenos... on a pizza- YUM. But lesson learned.
Sleep: Besides the whole Spring forward clock change. Sleeping is going fairly well.
Best moment this week: Had a date night and went to see OZ- and ate pizza. Also had lunch with some highschool girl friends and that was very nice!
Food Cravings: maybe we should talk food aversions here. Guess I will be staying away from the jalapeno popper pizza... booo.
What I miss:
Symptoms: tight belly- starting to have to take workouts a little easier because it gives me a weird discomfort below my belly. Heartburn.
What I am looking forward to: this week is Spring Break! Doctor's appointment on Wednesday. Sunny longer days.
Workouts: Like I said- taking it a bit easier. But still busting through. Making it to Boot Camp, Body Flow, and Combat once a week. Then lifting weights too- averaging about 4-5 workouts a week. Bought a maternity support belt and I am still unsure how I feel about it. It's just a little bit weird  Not really uncomfortable- but not comfortable either. Although it does seem to really help- especially in Combat class.
Baby #1 at 24 weeks
Milestones: 24 weeks! yay! She's moving more- but I for sure felt like there was a LOT more movement the 1st time around. I am going to ask more about this at my appointment this week. Always something to worry about as a mother, right?

Let's see the side by side-

20 weeks- 1/2 way there!

20 weeks baby #1

you can see the bump-

How far along? 20 weeks- you can tell she's is sitting much higher in my waist.
Body Changes? just a growing belly and growing hair- and nails too!
Sleep: it is what it is. I mostly sleep propped up on my back- but I will flip side to side every once in a while too.
Best moment this week: another ultrasound- always good to see Little Miss- she was fist pumping- just relaxing
Food Cravings: none really- I did eat my share of chocolate and dessert for Valentine's day- eeee- actually I think I ate too much and it made me feel weird.
What I miss: not much. really. I know- boring.
Symptoms: heart burn is returning- but I expected that as I get closer to the 3rd tri- yikes! does shopping for cute stuff online count as a symptom? I think I have 'finger click' symptoms...
OH and let's not forget sciatic nerve- ugh- that is a pain. Sitting in my desk chair seems to bother it the most. I have been sitting with my feet elevated and icing it each night.
What I am looking forward to: feeling more movement. I have felt some- but I thought I would be feeling more by now. So I am waiting.... patiently.... but hurry.
Workouts: still in the gym 4-5 days a week. Combat is getting harder- or I am getting muscle fatigue faster. I can work through the burn- but it is really burning! I keep a close eye on my heart rate monitor and just push on through. I have some great friends working out with me and that's always great motivation!
Milestones: 1/2 way~ pretty crazy- we are on the countDOWN now... still working on K's big boy room. It's really nice that we have all gender neutral stuff (we did that on purpose) and so really the only new stuff we need/ want is a new baby monitor w/ 2 cameras, a new diaper bag, maybe some new crib bedding, and clothes- and that's the fun part!
